Online Classes

Online classes with Zoom from Tuesday 24 March

In light of the government’s decision to activate Covid-19 Alert Level 4, Alliance Française Palmerston North has closed its premises but will continue to teach ALL EXISTING AND NEW CLASSES with the teleconference system ZOOM. This free tool will allow you to participate in classes online from the comfort of your own home.

All group and private classes have therefore migrated online but retain the same schedule. Click here to see our schedule of classes or contact us to arrange private lessons.

If you are an existing student, you will be contacted by your teacher. If you are a new student wanting to enrol in a class, please go to our website or email us at info@french.org.nz

Your teacher will send you the link to Zoom via email and will be liaising with you and answering your questions.

Online classes have been set up in order to maintain your personal connection to your teacher. We recommend downloading the free Zoom software here for the best experience.

Benefits of Online Classes

1.      Privacy: If you don’t like being on camera, you can shut off the video setting at any time. You can also choose a virtual background on Zoom.

2.      Constant support: You can communicate with your teacher via email for homework and extra activities.

3.      Convenience: Online classes can happen right from home!

Zoom - Tutorial for students

We want you to be able to enjoy your French classes just as you would in normal circumstances.

Before you start your first online class, your teacher will send you, via email, a tutorial on how to install Zoom on your laptop. You can also download this document here.

If you experience any difficulties when installing the software, please, do not hesitate to contact us and our teachers will do their absolute best to guide you through the process.
