About KaMeï

KaMeï was born in France, in the region of Toulouse, and spent her first years in an environment marked by classical music. She started singing in a choir at the age of 6 and was still doing so at festivals, 30 years later, as part of the Carcassonne Choir. She then moved to Ivory Coast where she spent 3 years discovering new sounds and musical influences. She built her first Djembe while she was living in the country.

KaMeï has now been a resident of New Caledonia for 17 years. In 2007, she joined "Marco's Band", a local music band which changed its name in 2010 to become "One More Time". In 2017, they created a second band called "Comme un Accord", in order to integrate a local repertoire of Tahitian songs from the Pacific in their music, and revisit French couple's dancing songs: Tango, Rock, Marche, Waltz, Madison, Zouk , Bigine, Kaina and Twist.

KaMeï sings in English, Spanish, Italian, Tahitian and Wallisian. She has started writing and composing her own musics in 2018 and is now a member of the SACENC (Society of Authors Composers and Music Publishers of New Caledonia). Her music is influenced by a very diverse range of styles: Classical Music, Operas, Blues, Jazz, Rock, Pop, and Pacific Music.

For the last 15 years, KaMeï has regularly been performing with both bands in hotels, bars and private parties across New Caledonia.
