Vanuella Watt NZ Tour - Oceania CELEBRATION Concert

The Alliances Françaises of Auckland, Palmerston North, Nelson and Christchurch, together with the Government of New Caledonia, the Delegation of New Caledonia to New Zealand, the Pacific Community, Aircalin, New Caledonia Tourism and Maison Vauron Wine Merchants are proud to present New Caledonian singer Vanuella Watt, the ‘Pacific Diva’ who will be travelling to New Zealand from 14th to 24th November.

Vanuella will be in Palmerston North for a very special concert, introducing her famous album “Oceania: a Hymn for the Pacific” for the first time in New Zealand! The New Caledonian diva will also entertain us with a beautiful repertoire of her own original compositions, classic French chansons, Pacific songs and world-famous songs in several languages, encompassing many styles and genres.

This tour will coincide with another well-known French cultural event : the release of the Beaujolais Nouveau. In France and all around the world, the arrival of this wine marks the end of the grape harvest, so it is time to celebrate together.

Join in at Palmerston North City Library on Saturday 17 November at 7.30 pm to try a glass of French wine and enjoy a taste of France while listening to the artist’s beautiful melodies. An event not to be missed!

Tickets available here or from our office!

VANUELLA WATT

The young Caledonian singer referred to as the ‘Pacific Diva’ boasts an extensive range of timbres and tones, and fascinates her audience with her warm and natural personality. She embodies the modern image and diversity of New Caledonian music through her repertoire built on both modern and more traditional takes on the "chanson française". In 2000, she represented New Caledonia at the World Music Festival.

She has since toured the Pacific islands extensively, including Vanuatu, Fiji and Australia. This is her second time in New Zealand for this series of workshops and concerts organised by several Alliances Françaises of New Zealand.
