Every year since 1982, French people gather in the streets of the country to enjoy free concerts and celebrate
the arrival of summer. This year again we want to share this event, an important part of the French culture, with you.
Come and celebrate the Fête de la Musique / World Music Day with Alliance Française Palmerston North on Saturday 6 June from 2
pm to 10 pm at
the Globe Theatre.
During the afternoon, you will enjoy a wide range of musical genres: from classical music to pop, rock, folk or jazz... FREE
ENTRY for
everyone!
And in the evening, don't miss the performance of the HOUSE ROCKERS BLUES BAND at 6 pm.
There is a big difference between playing IN a band and playing AS a band, and that is something that the House Rockers Blues Band make
abundantly clear.
Tony Faulkner, Jason Waitokia and Gary Goodwin are the HOUSE ROCKERS BLUES BAND.
They play modern/new blues rock with a splash of retro. The band's emphasis is on variety of musical styles within a bast repertoire, which
also includes a percentage of original material.
GARY GOODWIN is a drummer and singer who has worked extensively in various bands and as a sideman for various artists such
as Bunny Walters and Billy T James to name a few.
JASON WAITOKIA is a passionate guitarist who grew up in Wellington. He particularly loves 60s rock and blues, and aspires
to emulate the styles of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan and has played in various rock bands over the years.
TONY FAULKNER has been a bass player and lead singer for numerous groups. He has gigged extensively extensively
throughout New Zealand, including with Bullfrog Rata and Midge Marsden. Primarily known for "a driving backbone bass", he has
performed both professionally and semi-professionally.
A winning combination not to be missed!
