Alliance Française Palmerston North is not only a French school, it is much more!
Alliance Française Palmerston North contributes to a vibrant cultural life in the city by organising many community and cultural events such as concerts, exhibitions, shows, movie screenings, conferences, festivals, social events and our traditional French events: Fête de la Musique, Bastille Day and Beaujolais nouveau.
The annual Alliance Française French Film Festival – the largest French cultural event in New Zealand – showcases the best of French contemporary cinema in twelve cities nationwide from March to April. It is promoted by the Alliance Française network and takes place each year at Event Cinemas in Palmerston North.
All these events appeal to a broad public, and to anyone who likes French and French-speaking cultures or wants to learn more about them. To facilitate a wide participation, English is spoken at all events.
These events also attract the large French-speaking community of the region and allow our students to immerse themselves in all aspects of
French and French-speaking cultures and practise their French.
