About Pauline Nijman

Pauline grew up in Napier and worked at the marine zoo for 12 years. A deep seated passion for art, animals and teaching has lead Pauline on a unique career path with Wildbase for the last 10 years. She started as a technician, nursing some of the worlds rarest animals back to health alongside an amazing veterinary team and is now the supervisor for both the Wildbase Recovery and Hospital.

Pauline developed the Wildbase school sponsorship program, which has now evolved into the CETERC School program. Pauline knows first hand what a difference personal interaction and connections can make between animal and person. She works to engage with everyone on the important work Wildbase does for saving our native wildlife in the hopes that our community see the value in looking after our taonga for future generations.
